MyRentScore is operated by Tong Yan.

For account help and content concerns, email support@myrentscore.ca.

For privacy, access, correction, export or deletion requests, email support@myrentscore.ca. Describe your request without including your password or identity documents.

Eligibility and agreement

You must be at least 18 to create an account or contribute content. By creating an account or continuing to use account features, you agree to these terms and the community guidelines. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. If you do not agree, do not create an account or submit content.

Using MyRentScore

MyRentScore provides tenant-submitted rental experiences and summaries. It does not guarantee a property’s condition, safety, availability, or current rent. Review information alongside your own inspection and other sources.

Your contributions

Submit only your own firsthand experience. Do not post private information, unlawful content, threats, harassment, discrimination, or unsupported allegations. Keep your account secure and follow the community guidelines.

Moderation

Municipal building and address information is licensed under the Open Government Licence – Toronto. See our data sources and attribution.

Reviews may be held for moderation, rejected, or removed. Edits return to moderation. We may limit abusive activity and investigate reports. This does not mean every claim has been independently verified.

Your content and publishing choices

You retain ownership of your contributions. By submitting them, you permit MyRentScore to store, format, moderate and display them to operate the review service, including calculating aggregate ratings. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content. Reviews are anonymous by default; choosing to display a nickname makes that nickname public with that review. Public review text may still identify you if you include identifying details yourself.

Questions and content concerns

Use the report action on a review or email support@myrentscore.ca to raise a content concern. Describe the building and review involved without repeating private information. Requests for account or review removal can also be sent to support.

Account closure and review removal

Contact support to request removal of your review or closure of your account. We verify account ownership before acting. Closing your account also removes its reviews, private review fields and saved apartment associations from the live service, subject to the limited retention exceptions described in the privacy policy. Our permission to display removed content ends when removal is completed; limited backup copies may remain until the provider’s retention cycle expires.

Service availability and responsibility

We take reasonable care in operating the service, but it may contain errors or become temporarily unavailable. Tenant opinions do not represent an endorsement by MyRentScore. The service provides general information and does not provide legal, inspection or tenancy advice. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or the accuracy of user contributions. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or removes consumer or privacy rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Concerns and applicable law

Contact support with a description of a concern so we can investigate and respond. You may ask us to reconsider a moderation decision by identifying the review and explaining the relevant facts. These terms are governed by Ontario law and applicable Canadian federal law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live. Contacting support does not limit your right to contact a regulator or seek a remedy available under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We post updates with a revised effective date. Material changes apply going forward, and we will provide notice or request agreement when required by law. You may stop using the service and request account closure if you do not accept an update.
